The Best of Monthly Theme: Lines

January’s theme in the iffles.com Monthly Themes group on flickr was lines – and you guys found lines all around you! I thought that was going to be a tough one, but there were some really wonderful photos last month. February’s theme is drinks and there’s still plenty of time to get some shots taken and added them to the pool!

I noticed there were some new participants in the group for this month, so before I post all of these, I just wanted to say again that there’s not only stead-fast rules for the photos I pick. Well, okay, there is one – I check out the EXIF to make sure the photo was taken in the month in question. If it meets that qualification, it’s basically just my own subjective opinion. Some photos I pick because I just like theme and some photos I pick because they fit the theme very well. I don’t look at names, so if I didn’t pick your photo, it’s not personal. The upside of these entries is that I get a chance to showcase some great photos that I see from other people… the downside is that I alwasy feel guilty about all the ones I DON’T post! Anyway. Enough of that – just enjoy these photos!

The Best of Monthly Themes: Food

I have two other half-written entries in the works… those of you following me on flickr are probably already aware that we’ve been doing some major home renovations at the moment, but the good news is it’s almost all done, so hopefully I’ll back to semi-regular entries in a near future!

In the mean time, these are my favorite photos entered into the iffles.com Monthly Themes group on flickr for December. The theme was food – so don’t read this entry if you’re hungry! I’m stuffed and I still started drooling!

If you took any Line photos in January, there’s still time to post them to the group. And February’s theme is drinks – a cool glass of water, a refreshing can of soda, a good glass of wine – whatever! I look forward to seeing what you guys post!

Oh goodness, there were so many good Tree photos taken in the month of November that were posted to the monthly themes group that I had a really hard time narrowing it down to a reasonable amount!

It’s too late to still take photos for December’s theme of food – but if you took some, you still have time to add them to the group. But everyone has time to take some photos for January’s theme – Lines!

The Best of Monthly Theme: Lights/Lighting

I know I keep falling behind in posting these, but I’d like to say it’s just because I give you more time to edit and post your photos, right? This means you still have time to post any tree photos you took in November to the iffles.com monthly themes group on flickr. And in case you forgot – December’s theme is food! So start taking some food photos. And don’t browse the group if you’re hungry, it might not be wise :)

Also, I want to play again next year. Do you? If so, start shouting out some theme ideas in over here. I’ll take all the suggestions I get over there and create a new thread where we can vote on them all.

I realize September’s theme of shoes was a bit specific, so I wasn’t expecting a ton of entries, but I was surprised at the variety you guys were able to submit!

November’s theme is trees, so add any photos of trees you take this month to the iffles.com monthly theme group on flickr!

The Best of Monthly Theme: Reflections

See, I didn’t completely forget about those of you that have still been diligently uploading photos to the iffles.com Monthly Themes group on flickr! I’m not surprised that August was a bit slow around there, because August was slow around here, too, so I really blame myself. I think we’ve got a great theme for October, though, that will give all of you a chance to get creative – it’s Lights/Lighting – so play with some light – natural, flash, LED, sparklers, whatever. I’m really looking forward to getting inspired by you this month!

Back in August, though, the theme was Reflections, and here are my favorites:
