And… We’re Back!

Or, I’m back, at least.

I know it has been too long since I wrote an entry over here. A few of you have contacted me via my flickr account asking what happened to the blog, and I’ve provided the same answer each time: life got busy, and I had to prioritize, and unfortunately iffles.com just didn’t make the cut.

I’ve always said that I didn’t want to be a profressional photographer because I didn’t want something I loved turning into something that stressed me out, and I realized that this site was doing the same thing to me, so I had to take a break.

I did not, however, intend for it to be this long!

I do have some new entries planned for the upcoming weeks, but I feel you deserve to know some things that have been going on since I last updated:

  • I did shoot the wedding, and yes, one of my upcoming entries will be about the entire experience
  • I bought a 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens. Love it.
  • I haven’t stopped taking photos – including some taken on a mini-vacation John and I took for our 5-year anniversary
  • I broke my toe. This has nothing to do with photography, but it’s one of the more noteworthy things that happened since I last posted.

I promise an entry of substance coming up soon (as you as you define “soon” as a period of time shorter than the time period between this and my previous entry), but I also I want to prevent this site turning into something I stress over, so there may be a few format changes around here.

I appreciate those of you that are still checking up on the site, and I hope you are not disappointed when the entries start rolling in again.

Oh, one more thing! I notice some of you haven’t forgotten about the iffles.com Monthly Themes group on flickr, and I’m still over there looking (and, as always, amazed at the many great photos submitted), so in case you forgot about it, may I remind that June’s theme is Doors/windows!

I've seen your photos on Flickr so I knew you were ok, and thought you maybe needed a break. Good to see you're back.:)

Glad to see you back.  I have the non-L version of that lens and LOVE it.  A lot of my macros don't turn out well, as they're hand-held and proper focus is so hard to achieve...  Best of luck with it...
