Photowalk 10: More things
I usually try to pick a photo for these Weekend Links that somehow matches one of the links. This has nothing to do with the links, it’s just an old photo of mine that I like for no good reason.

Oh dear. I’m getting later and later in posting these. My first excuse (and this goes for the lack of posts this week) is that I’m obviously just not out of my photography rut yet. Hopefully some motivation hits me soon. But the reason this post is so late is that as soon as I got back from my photowalk today (around 4PM) I got hit with migraine. It’s 7 hours later and I can finally at least look at my computer screen, with the brightness down, of course.

  • These Do’s and Don’ts of editing are specifically for Photoshop, but the tools and concepts are the same for Gimp.
  • Photodoto gave us some tips for photographing the moon this week.
  • This is actually an old article, and I have no idea how I found it… someone must have tweeted it? Anyway, it’s about the the difference between amateur and professional photographers.
  • You know I’m all about free stuff here on iffles.com, so check out this list of free photography software.
  • Since Halloween is coming up, you might want to revisit this old article from DPS about Halloween photography tips.
  • It must be old article week, because I also came across this older one from DIYPhotography, thanks to @petapixel: Six photography projects you can print or fold.
  • I think one of the reasons I like Ronan Palliser’s blog so much is that he talks about the mistakes he makes and how to learn from them. At one point this week, he talked about using some flashes to light up an amazing scene of rocks and water. Then he talked about everything he did wrong. Honestly, I find his image pretty amazing, and never would have noticed the things he pointed out if he hadn’t pointed them out, but it did teach me a thing or two about exposing with flashes. You can read about it here.
